C1-1 Disinfection Drone

Abstract

This research aims to explore the effect and influence of integrating Arduino controllers into drones and sterilizers on disinfection and epidemic prevention. Traditional disinfection methods are too labor-intensive, and there are still dead corners after disinfection that cannot be effectively and comprehensively disinfected. In addition, some viruses are extremely infectious, such as the new crown virus (COVID-19), which may infect the disinfectant and cause counter-effects, forming a loophole in epidemic prevention.
And during the outbreak of the epidemic, every second counts. The traditional disinfection mode is too time-consuming to keep up with the spread of the virus. Therefore, the design uses Arduino to control the drone to integrate into the disinfection equipment for indoor and outdoor disinfection.
This machine adopts Wi-Fi and Bluetooth control, hoping to suppress the spread of the epidemic and reduce the place where the virus spreads by disinfecting the drone.
The goal of this research is to use it in places where people will come into contact, such as transportation hubs, activity centers, primary and secondary schools and so forth.
In this study, through the use of ultrasonic sensors, the controllability and safety of UAVs indoors and outdoors are increased, and the control errors of the sterilizers are reduced, so that this study can perform disinfection in different sizes and ranges according to different venues.
The main axis of our research is the Arduino development board, which is used to control the flight module and disinfection equipment.
Use the mobile phone APP to remotely control the drone, perform disinfection operations through the atomization module, and cooperate with the ultrasonic sensor to avoid impact.

The research results are summarized as follows:
1. The time spent on disinfection can be greatly reduced.
2. Through remote control, the disinfectant can be prevented from being exposed to the danger of viruses.
3. It can be sprayed and disinfected more evenly, reducing the dead angle of disinfection.
Finally, for the control of disinfection drones, the direction of future research may be to add image recognition and automatic navigation disinfection.
